Ever since stumbling across the solo indie game developer going by “RareBreed Makes Games” on twitter a few years back , I have been eagerly awaiting their new fighting game: Blazing Strike. With impressive pixel art visuals and extremely cool character designs, the game immediately reminded me of classics like Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike and Garou: Mark of the Wolves.

I was so excited, in fact, that I tried to support the game’s Kickstarter in 2019. But that campaign was cancelled when a publisher stepped in to back the project.

So while still developed by RareBreed Makes Games, Blazing Strike is now being produced by Aksys Games. And if that means we can get it for PlayStation, Steam, and Switch next year, I am all for it!

Let’s bring on the new 2D fighters. This genre could use the injection of some new pixel-perfect blood…so to speak.
